抄録: Three studies were conducted to develop a new scale of interpersonal stressor which can measure various kinds of daily interpersonal stressor in various relationships. The Scale of Interpersonal Stressor (SIS) was constructed, which includes three subscales (of six items each). Three subscale were interpersonal conflict (1C: explicit interpersonal conflict situations, such as quarrel, discord etc.), interpersonal blunder (IB: situations putting other people to trouble because of one's own mistake), and interpersonal friction (IF: situations taking care toward other people to avoid explicit interpersonal troubles). As a whole, frequency of 1C is fewer than IB and IF, however, impact of 1C and IB is more serious than IF. In general relationships, all kinds of interpersonal stressor correlated positively with stress responses. Additionally, 1C showed positive correlation with loneliness, and IB showed negative correlation with self-esteem. In specific relationships, following results were found; (a) in same-sex friendships, male experiences 1C more than female; (b) romantic relationships tend to experience all kinds of interpersonal stressor more than opposite-sex friendships; (c) IF with mother is fewer than other relationships; (d) in same-sex friendships, correlation patterns between interpersonal stressor and intimacy differ by sex; (e) interestingly, all kind of interpersonal stressor in male's friend relationships, romantic relationships, relationships with mother, and job relationships did not correlate to social skills and stress responses. These results support reliability and validity of subscales of SIS generally.
